Winter time of Year again
After a flux of the temperature being 69 degrees(this past Saturday), winter came a knockin again. When you commute to work by way of a single speed track bike, man you feel it on those extra cold days.
Though it was sub 20 degrees this morning and a sub 15 with bikechill, my forehead and toes were the coldest, my toes are still thawing.
My core was warm by way of a down feather filled inner shell but has no zippers or buttons, and legs were faily warm with a layer of road shorts, tights and mtn bike shorts. I learned from yesterday that the wind cuts through if I don't add a layer of Mtn bike shorts.
The added long sleeve and fleece under a NorthFace hyvent rain jacket used primarily as a windbreaker along with the full faced baclava under the helmet and linings under a thin pair of leather gloves for cutting wind and better dexterity seemed to have kept me warm.
The intensified cadance to get me to work quick seemed to be an added bonus that adequately kept me warm, except my toes. Polypro and a thicker layer under the shoes failed. Time for the order of the bell weather aqua-no booties. While I am at it, what else can I order?
