Commuting

Old man winter has finally slapped some snow on us, though only a lite dusting of an inch or two. Commuting on a bike in the snow, is semi-treacherous. Like all commutes in a city, you have to use spidy senses. Now in the snow and ice, you need heightened spidy senses. And some studded tires. since the largest tire size I can put on the fuji is only 700X30cc and most studded are in a size of about 700X37cc. there will be no studs on the Fuji SS. only Cyclocross tires in 700X30cc which i was eyeballing at wheelworks.
another problem with winter commuting in snow and ice is salt. there is no avoiding the salt. I spent about a half hour this morning rinsing the salt of my booties and pants. need some sort of covers to sheild the salt from eating away my booties and pants at the ankles.
