Vuth and the Art of Wheelbuilding

So wheelbuilding is truly an art form. the picture is my first attempt. I shortly had to unlace every spoke and will be starting over. I put the wrong spoke lenths on the wrond hub side. oh well. And I am waiting for my spokes to come in. the correct size spokes.
Notice Michelle has her eyes rolled as our kitchen had turned into a bicycle repair shop. it had to be done as the mercury outside gauged at 100˚F.
I just recieved an email from cannondale and they said that my rear wheel is laced with 16, 14 guage 260mm and 16, 14 guage 264 mm spokes. I had measured the spokes multiple times and each time the spoke lenths were just under 263mm and 261 mm. I am going to go with my measurements. and install the spokes that I have. if one millimeter throws me off and my wheel falls apart, so be it.
this is the email sent to me from cannondale, one week after I sent them an initial inquiry:
Hello Vuth.
The front wheel is spec’d with 16 of 260mm length and 16 of 264mm length of spoke. The rear wheel is spec’d with 16 of 260mm and 16 or 262mm. Spoke gauge is 14g. Your Cannondale Retailer can further assist you with any wheel building inquiries.
And yes, you can upgrade your Lefty Max 140 TPC to the SPV. You are welcomed to send your fork back thru your Cannondale Retailer to be serviced by our Cannondale Factory Tech Room. Also Vuth, the Lefty Max 140 forks are user-friendly. You can switch out the cartridges yourself or your Cannondale Retailer can do so as well. You would need kit numbers KF223/ and KF218/. Your Retailer can confirm.
